Hidden Return line216 viewsA channel has been carved through the lower foam block and up into the middle foam block. This is where the hidden return line to take gondolas between the mine and powerstation will run.

Front Facia216 viewsAn Hardboard facia has been cut out and fixed to the wooden frame.
Painted Facia213 viewsI have painted the facia to resemble rock strata as the facia is designed to be built into the scenery.

The First Peice of Track210 viewsI managed to aquire a pair of New Code 55 slip switches for £30, which has saved me quite a bit on the £54 it would cost from a store.
Here we see the Double Slip in position. There will have to be a track bed as the foam is not carved flate enough - hence why some has been carved out here. Holes have also been made for point motors.

Rear Yard208 viewsHere the gradient up to the rear yard has been cut out to an approximate profile. This may need to change later. The cut needs to be extended on into the foam wall.
Huge Holes208 viewsThere is a huge hole in the wall between the hidden line and the yard. This will need filling
Rear Yard Profile206 viewsThe entire yard is on a slope, which is far from idea, as all the trains will roll off onto the mainline.
The New River Bed206 viewsThe sandstone mix was spread out into the gorge and then a channel brushed through. The whole thing was then sprayed with watered down glue to bind it all together.
An Attempt at a River Bed205 viewsI have attempted to make a river bed by glueing fish tank sand onto the river. However i think this looks terrible, and all I have acheived is a solid block of sand paper that i cant cut through >___<

From Below205 viewsA photo taken up through the hole carved for point motors. The holes are alot deeper than they need to be for wiring purposes.
Cork Roadbed.205 viewsThe profile of the foam trackbed has been leveled and refined, especially around the pointwork (so they lie flat), and to make the gradient changes much smoother. Some areas are up to 15mm thick of cork (most areas are only 1.5mm) - just shows how much I've had to refine my carving.

Hidden Line Clearances203 viewsA shot showing how tight the clearances under the turntable are.
The Front Hill203 viewsI have carved the expanding foam into the approximate profile of the front hill.

The Stone202 viewsA little feature on the Island between waterfalls. Glowing brightly in the camera flash.

Profiles201 viewsSome shots of the gradients and track profiles

The Rear of the Powerstation201 viewsAfter carving an hole in the back of the powerstation, I have attached a foam block which will be used to support the substation which will be kitbashed on to it.

Into the Mine199 viewsHere is where the other slip switch resides. It can just be seen in the distance.
